This experiment has now been confirmed - please see the new blog post here.
Original post:
We are currently planning a potential experiment at UCL PEARL on 19th of February. Please note this experiment is currently unconfirmed.
Given the high number of participants required (200) we need to start recruitment before we receive confirmation. For any potential participants who sign up now, we will contact you on w/c 20th or w/c 27th of January to confirm if the experiment is going ahead.
Should the experiment not be able to happen on 19th February, those who expressed their interest will be notified in advance and will be given priority for the next possible similar study. Thank you for your patience.

If it were to go ahead, this research would investigate how different designs of sun roofs perform when installed in a double decker bus.
We are preliminarily looking for participants over 18 years of age who have access to a mobile phone with data and are able to ascend and descend stairs in a standard London double-deck bus.
Participants would be in one of four buses as they follow a test route near the PEARL facility in Dagenham.
This experiment would last for about 2.5 hours and will take place on 19 February 2025, at 14:00 (with participants arriving at 13:30). Participants would be compensated with £50 which includes £10 towards travel costs.
If you would like to express interest in taking part, please follow this link and fill the online form. Please note we will confirm if the experiment will go ahead and contact you between the 20th and the 27th of January.
