E-Scooter Sounds Experiment: now recruiting participants!

Image: Tier Scooters

UCL PEARL is undertaking some research for Tier Scooters in collaboration with Transport for

London to explore the type of warning sound an e-scooter should have so that pedestrians

can be alerted to their presence, location and speed to improve safety on our streets.

We are looking for people to participate with a focus on those who are blind, visually-impaired,

aged over 65, with hearing loss, hearing impaired, cyclists / e-scooter users and people with

mobility impairment. However, the experiment is open to anyone aged 18-75!

The experiment will involve listening to some different sounds, and will take approximately

1 hour in total. We are running the experiment on 24th, 26th and 31st August or 1st September at UCL PEARL (Person-Environment-Activity Research Laboratory) in Dagenham.

You will be paid £30 in total for your participation in the full hour.

If you would like to take part in this experiment, please contact us at pearl@ucl.ac.uk . We

will respond to arrange your visit time.

We hope to see you at PEARL!
