Online Focus Group on Bus Stop Design for Disabled People

In partnership with Guide Dogs, we have been conducting research into the impact of design trends that are on the increase within the built environment on people with a range of disabilities. The project has focussed on bus stop boarders and bypasses; continuous or blended pavements; and shared pedestrian and cycle lanes.

The research so far has been looking at the impact of each design feature on disabled people through lab trials, a site visit, and in-person focus groups across the UK.

At this stage of the project, we are conducting an online focus group to capture the views of those unable to attend the previous sessions. We are inviting those over the age of 18 that meet at least one of the following criteria to take part.

·      People from the neurodiverse community

·      People with a learning disability

·      Wheelchair users/people living with a mobility impairment

The online focus group will take place via Teams and participants will be compensated with an Amazon vouchers worth £30 for their time:

Date: Tuesday 23rd April 2024

Time: 10.30 -12.00am

If you believe you are eligible for this study and would like to take part, please contact Derrick derrick.boampong@ucl.ac.uk or Craig craig-smith@ucl.ac.uk to register.
