Update: the call for expressions of interest is now closed.

We are seeking expressions of interest for taking part in an experiment at PEARL from 28th-30th July, pending confirmation of approval from the university next week. Please note: these are preliminary dates and this experiment is not yet confirmed to go ahead. We will  respond to those who are interested and organise a preliminary timeslot, pending confirmation.

This potential experiment would explore the impact of shape-changing environments on people and the potential to improve their health and well-being. This would involve interacting with a large-scale, shape-morphing soft robotic installation designed to respond to body movement.

We are looking for participants who are 18+ years of age and comfortable with light physical movement. All participants must be able to come to PEARL independently.

Neurodivergent participants are encouraged to apply. This refers to people who identify as having a different neurology when compared to most of the human population that has a typical neurology. This would include Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and more.

The experiment would last approx. 1.5 hours and the preliminary available dates are 28th-30th July. Participants would be compensated £35 for their time and £15 for transportation (£50 in total).

Please note: there will be video recording of the experiment. However, if you do not want to be filmed you can still take part. Also, participants would need to wear many sensors for 15+ minutes, this could cause some discomfort for those with sensory sensitivities.

To express interest intaking part please fill out 1 online form:

·        If you are neurodivergent (e.g. Autism, ADHD, ADD, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Tourette’s, and more.) please fill out the form here

·        If you are not neurodivergent please fill out the form here

You will be contacted to arrange a preliminary timeslot. We hope to contact you next week to confirm if the experiment will be going ahead on these dates.

Best wishes,

PEARL

This blog post about shape-changing environments for health and well-being is very insightful. It shows how innovative spaces can improve people’s lives. Just like how these designs focus on enhancing user experience, the best customer review platforms also aim to create trust and support by collecting real feedback that helps people make better decisions.
