Expression of Interest - Improving Soundscapes in Tunnel Environments

The University College London, in collaboration with The University of Hong Kong, will be conducting an experiment from 15-19 June 2026 that aims to investigate how the soundscape in underground tunnels affects users.
We are currently looking for participants who meet the following criteria:
Basic requirements:
• Aged 18 years old or over
• Using London underground for more than 2 times per month
• Able to walk continuously for 3 minutes (with or without mobility aids)
• Able to write and type English
• Available during 15-19 June
If you are interested in taking part in this experiment, please click on this [link]. You will be asked a range of questions on a form to determine if you are eligible for this experiment. The experiment is expected to last for 55 minutes at the UCL PEARL Laboratory. As a token of appreciation for your time and contribution, participants will receive £50 in cash upon completion of the experiment. The cash will be handed to you in person at the end of the session, and a brief signature will be requested to acknowledge receipt, in line with standard research procedures.
